 Pike's Peak Photographs!

A few days ago, I got to hike Pike's Peak! It was a ton of fun and really beautiful, and the weather was great. We got rained on at the summit, but it wasn't a severe storm and came as a bit of a relief. We took Barr trail all 26 miles, in three days, summiting the second day. We saw a ton of marmots, one of which decided to try and raid my pack. Overall, it was a fantastic three days.

Pike's peak is 14,115 feet, making it a fourteener. Ranked, it is the longest fourteener out of all 58 in the state of Colorado, and the 32nd tallest 14er.

Just above Timberline, we spotted a buck white-tailed deer.

Butterflies were rather common while hiking the trail. This one is a Painted lady that was resting by a stream.
Chipmunks were everywhere! This one is above timberline and shot with a telephoto lens.
There were lots of columbines along Barr trail the first day.
Grey Squirrel.
A rather friendly marmot that decided to attempt a burglary after we refused to give him food.
A panorama taken from a switchback just below the summit
Our first full glimpse of the peak around five miles or so in.
Taken from the Timberline A-frame shelter.
-Fleck!
